January 2021 Covid-19 Studio Update

Dear parents, dancers and families,

2020 has been a long, weary road, for us all. No one could have anticipated a year like this, although we could spend paragraphs talking about the struggles, we would like to rather shift perspective and provide support and hope for the future.

Firstly, we need sadly say that due to the latest government announcement that Devon is moving into tier 3, we feel it would be irresponsible to re-open the studio just yet.

In November when tiers where announced, we spent time looking at which classes would be allowed, we felt positive in our decision to remain closed. Now with further challenges preventing adults and secondary school children attending in person classes as well as travel restrictions when so many of our families travel from outside the Exeter area to join us, we are in a worse situation than before.

Your safety will always be our main priority and although we truly believe in the power of dance to keep our community healthy, we do not feel we can do this face to face at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation with a plan to return to the studio at the beginning of February.

Please rest assured that any classes already paid for will be honoured upon our return (All adult and DanSci youth class passes will be frozen as before. Babyballet and Lilbeatz sessions will roll on with the term dates being amended for the number of weeks we are closed) If you have booked a three-week trial but not yet started, we will be in touch with your start dates as soon as they are clarified.

The DanSci team will remain furloughed. As before this means we cannot legally teach (which is so hard when this is our lives), but you can all keep dancing safely at home, anyone with a current pass will continue to have access to our online CLI Studios program.

To help you choose the right classes we will send you weekly emails with suggestions, so keep checking your inbox! This is a great opportunity to try some new styles and learn from some of the best choreographers in the world not to mention work on your Medal Award entries. We kindly ask that you do not share your logins as these are purchased for each individual. A separate email reminding you how to access your account will be sent out shortly.

During January we will be taking part in lots of exciting online challenges on our social media channels so please do all make sure you are following us: FB: @danscidancestudio Insta: @danscidance

So just to clarify the above:

  • Sadly DanSci will remain closed during January and for the remainder of the national lockdown

  • All class passes / membership fees will continue to be frozen

  • Babyballet & Lil Beatz terms will continue once we re-open and carry on from when we had to close

  • Everyone will a Class pass will have access to our online classes via the CLI Studios program

  • We will souce as many activities and classes as possible to keep you dancing form home.

  • We will move Medal Awards to later in the season

  • We will be setting some exciting online challenges, so please checkout our social media pages!

Uncertainty still looms before all of us, but one certainty remains, and that is that the community of DanSci, teachers, students & families will stick together, helping each other, no matter what. We can create beauty in a world of loneliness, insecurity and isolation.

We will do all that we can to accommodate every dancer as we work our way through this uncertain period. Stay safe, take care and do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. Here's to 2021 — may your families stay healthy, the arts flourish, beauty prevail, and we all return to safely dance together soon.

Miss Ava and every one of the DanSci team

xx
